Competitive Arizona Invites Businesses and Organizations to Publicly Support the Coalition
Today, under Arizona law, gay and transgender people are at risk of being fired, denied an apartment, or refused service because of who they are or love. This creates not just a very real burden on the affected individuals, but also—as we saw in the aftermath of SB 1062—an image problem for our state on a number of levels, including the ability to attract and retain top talent and new business ventures.
Competitive Arizona is a coalition of organizations, businesses and individuals working to promote economic development in Arizona through equality and inclusion for all people, including gay and transgender individuals, in employment, housing, and public accommodations.
Our vision is a thriving Arizona that is open for business to everyone. All people, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/expression, should be protected from discrimination where they live and work. Everyone should have a fair chance to earn a living and provide for their families.
Our mission is to update Arizona’s nondiscrimination laws so that no one can be denied employment, housing or access to public accommodations because of their sexual orientation or gender identity/expression.
